Pharmacy Intern

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will play a critical role in assisting PillPack customers by completing the full cycle of transferring prescriptions into and out of PillPack pharmacies, reviewing customers full prescription lists, completing data entry, filling prescriptions and exercising clinical judgement when necessary.


Our intern pay rates increase as you progress through your pharmacy classes so please contact us directly for specific pay rates. 


Core Responsibilities

  • Request and receive the transfer of existing customer prescriptions into PillPack’s pharmacies

  • Make external phone calls to prescribers and pharmacies

  • Update customer profiles with accurate prescription information

  • Receive incoming calls and quickly transferring calls if necessary

  • Provide proactive clinical judgement to customers and external pharmacists; Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Makes recommendations for therapy changes to the physician as appropriate

  • Send out and receive existing customer prescriptions via fax

  • Transcribe verbal prescriptions from external pharmacies

  • Full cycle transfer process completion

  • Management of daily task logs and collaboration with your team to  prioritize workload

  • Verbal and written communication to external pharmacies, customers, and prescribers

  • Type prescription orders and OTC orders into PharmacyOS

  • Fill and prepare medication orders to assist the pharmacist

  • Constant collaboration with teammates
